Attempting to use the edger attachment but had the same problem with the brush cutter attachment.
I need help before I take it back to HOME DEPOT for a full refund.

You have 1. an air leak in the fuel system or 2. dirty fuel or 3. a sticking needle valve / float assembly in the carb or 4. a bad spark plug that quits working after warming up.

Check all screws holding the carb to the motor to ensure none have vibrated loose. Check the fuel lines to ensure they don't have a hole allowing air in. Check the fuel shut off valve and make sure it is fully open.

Dirty fuel will require the Carb to be disassembled and cleaned. Avoid dirty fuel by always running your fuel through a coffee filter. Even new gas from the pumps has minute dirt and rust particles that will plug the tiny holes in a carb.

A sticking needle valve / float will require removal of the float assembly and a new float, needle valve and needle valve seat to be installed.

Put in a new spark plug. Small engine plugs are really hit and miss on quality. The factory most likely used the cheapest they could find.

husqvarna chainsaw 3120 xp starts, idles, runs good when cold after running 20-30 minutes it is hard to start.?

also it will not idle after running 20-30 minutes.i clean or put a new plug in it every day an also clean air filter, is this a carb adjustment or could there be somthing else?

If you're changing or cleaning a plug every day, and this happens when hot, but runs fine when cold, it sounds like a severly plugged air filter or a stuck choke. Possibly a lot of build up in the carb, but if it idles fine cold, probably not.

Someone else mentioned magneto/ignition problems, this is possible as well. But start with the basics first - good maintaince - clean the filter and carb, check the choke (if it has one, I'm not really sure with that model), make sure you're using the right plug.

Have you ever wondered how a chainsaw operates? A chainsaw is a handy mechanical saw run by a motor, usually in forestry activities like logging and tree thinning. Tree surgeons make use of this indispensable tool to fell trees and haul foliage and branches and in harvesting firewood. In chainsaw art, specially designed blades have been developed as tools.

Chainsaws are made of a small, two-stroke gasoline (petrol) internal combustion engine. Smaller versions often use electric motors. The blade or bar, a long metal frame made of sturdy alloy, along with the cutting chain complete the package.

This equipment normally requires two kinds of lubrication. Since it is similar to two-stroke engines, it is lubricated by fuel that contains from two to five percent oil dissolved in fuel. Since the mixture is highly flammable, to prevent accidents, a separate oil reservoir is used for the blade and chainÂ’s external lubrication. This is easily depleted since it tends to be separated from the chain by a centrifugal force. Failure to keep this reservoir filled and using an oil of incorrect viscosity commonly leads to damage in the chainsaw; the chain can disengage from the bar. The operator needs to stop once in a while to unplug the holes with oil dispensed to the chain.

Since the air filter normally clogs up with sawdust, this should be kept clean to ensure smooth operation. A lot of operators use oil to clean it up. Caution must be used, though, in making use of fuel with no oil added; otherwise the residual oil in the filter will clog it up even more.

Chainsaws can cause injuries, sometimes fatal. The most common accident involving chainsaw is called kickback; it occurs when a chain tooth near the bar tip cuts into wood without going through it. Thus, the chain cannot move and the bar is pushed into an upward motion towards the operator, resulting in serious injuries and even death. Another dangerous situation occurs when a huge timber falls or shifts when a cut is almost done. The operator may be trapped, even crushed to death, since a tree is heavier than a car. Operators are also prone to vibration white finger, tinnitus, or industrial deafness. Thus, protective clothing and ear covers are normally worn and certification and proper training is needed before one is allowed to professionally operate a chainsaw.

"Dealer only item" means just that. However, you might try a few independent mechanics, and see if by chance they either have something they could sell to you do do it yourself, or if perhaps they could fix it for far less than what the dealer wants to charge.

Or, you could buy the full coil at $60, use what you need and sell the rest to a mechanic or perhaps on eBay.

With the fuel prices rising more and more every day, many people are looking for more alternate types of fuel. Most people do not realize that the petroleum based fuel they use is just a thermo vapor process, and does not use the liquid that we pump at all. The liquid we pump into our gas tanks is transformed into a gaseous mass, from the carburetor to the pistons.

Some people are trying to convert a regular automobile into a hybrid powered motor. The parts are inexpensive and can be obtained from off the shelf parts. Building a system that changes tap water into hydrogen and oxygen gas, plugs into your existing carburetor, and still uses your battery and existing electrical system.

The changes that you will be making are minimal, considering that you will be changing to a water tank, preferably a plastic one that will not rust, building a control circuit unit and a reaction chamber. You will also need to attach a throttle and a few gages.

The water container is filled with tap water and some baking soda, and by using the electricity from your existing battery breaks down the molecules, and using the vacuum lines that you have attached it directs this new hydrogen gas, to the air manifold where it then enters the engines carburetor or fuel injection system and begins the combustion process. By adding a fuel line heater you will be able to improve you old gas mileage by 50%.

For less than $200.00 you can build this Brown's Gas System. The baking soda which will last approximately six months can be purchased at any grocery store for just a few cents. A hydrogen generator which you will make using a mason jar. However, you should know a little about reading schematics, and a general knowledge of mechanic work will help tremendously.

You will also need a guide to build the Brown's Gas System (HHO), converter. You will need pressurized air hosing and air tee's, a dual edge map sensor enhancer, a fuel heater and a PCV enhancer.

The alternator is sufficient enough to power the same electrical loads as it always has, and since the HHO power only needs 10 to 20 amps, you do not have to buy any extra batteries.

Once you have the CHT gauge is installed you need to measure the temperature range from your gasoline motor and compare it with the temperature range from your new motor, it should set between a quarter and half. After you build your controller and the reaction chamber check and make sure the pressure is set correctly. Then it will be time to install the tank, controller pressure fittings, and the chamber.

You should transfer any non stainless steel fittings for stainless steel to prevent rust and corrosion. Next connect your throttle and the gauges under the dash, start the engine and adjust any fittings that are necessary.

You will be amazed at the amount of money you will save by converting from petroleum gas to a water and gasoline mixture. These conversion kits will be the new alternative fuel, and we will see more of them in the very near future.
